Textile Designer

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign exclusive digital motifs, borders, pallus, and all-over prints for sarees and suits. Digitally recreate traditional Indian patterns (banarasi, chikankari, bandhej, ikat, kalamkari, etc.) into contemporary, production-ready formats. Develop seasonal collections aligned with festive wear, wedding wear, and export requirements. Collaborate with weaving units, printers, and artisans to ensure designs are technically feasible for handloom, powerloom, and digital printing. Research and forecast Indian ethnic fashion trends in sarees and suits. Maintain a design bank of borders, motifs, and repeat patterns. Ensure color accuracy, repeat perfection, and production adaptability in all designs. Present collections to clients/management for approvals and revisions. Required Skills & ExpertiseStrong command over Adobe Photoshop, Procreate (mandatory); Illustrator/CorelDraw (preferred). Expertise in Indian ethnic motifs, traditional layouts, zari patterns, and regional embroidery styles. Ability to create digital mock-ups of sarees and suits for client presentations. Good knowledge of textile printing, weaving, and embroidery applications. Strong color sense and detailing skills. Ability to blend tradition with contemporary design trends. Preferred Qualifications5+ years of experience in ethnic textile design (sarees & suits focus). Hands-on experience with Banarasi sarees, Chanderi, Kota, Silk, and cotton-based designs. Exposure to export and domestic ethnic fashion markets. Diploma/Degree in Textile Designing or Fashion Designing (preferred but not compulsory). Compensation & BenefitsSalary: ₹50,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month (based on experience and portfolio strength). Creative independence to design signature saree & suit collections.
