Technology Lead (SAP ABAP & Emerging Technologies)

• Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technology Lead with a strong foundation in SAP ABAP and a proven track record in emerging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Mobile Application Development, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader, capable of architecting, developing, and implementing innovative solutions that bridge the gap between traditional SAP landscapes and next-generation digital platforms. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives within the manufacturing organization.

• Role & responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex technical solutions using of multiple technology platforms eg: SAP ABAP, RPA, AI, IoT etc.

Define technical architecture, standards, and best practices for development across various platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Provide expert guidance and technical mentorship to external team of developers and consultants.

SAP ABAP Development & Optimization:

Hands-on development, customization, and enhancement of SAP functionalities using advanced ABAP techniques (ABAP Objects, Fiori/UI5 extensions, OData services, CDS Views, AMDP, BTP integrations).

Optimize existing SAP ABAP programs for performance and maintainability.

Lead technical upgrades, patching, and performance tuning activities within the SAP landscape.

Emerging Technologies Integration:

Drive the exploration, prototyping, and implementation of RPA solutions to automate repetitive business processes, working with platforms like MS Power Automate, Power Apps etc.

Lead the development and integration of enterprise-grade mobile applications (iOS/Android native or cross-platform) that seamlessly interact with SAP and other backend systems.

Identify and implement AI/ML solutions (e.g., predictive analytics, natural language processing for chatbots, image recognition) to enhance business operations and decision-making within manufacturing.

Programming & Development:

SAP ABAP, Java, Python

Ensure robust coding practices, unit testing, and quality assurance for all developed solutions.

Project Management & Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative solutions.

Oversee the entire development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Participate in strategic planning for technology roadmap and digital initiatives.

Innovation & Research:

Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and advancements in SAP technologies, RPA, Mobile development, AI/ML, and cloud platforms.

Champion new technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the IT department.

• Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of

  12+ years of hands-on experience

  in software development and technical leadership roles.
• Extensive and deep hands-on experience in

  SAP ABAP development

  , including S/4HANA specific developments (CDS Views, AMDP, Fiori/UI5 extensions, OData services).
• Proven hands-on experience with

  at least one major RPA platform

  (e.g. UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate ), including bot development and deployment.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in

  Mobile Application Development

  (native iOS/Android or cross-platform frameworks like React Native, Flutter) for enterprise use cases.
• Practical experience in designing and implementing

  AI/ML solutions

  , including working with Python for data science/machine learning libraries.

• Required Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• SAP Certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP for SAP S/4HANA).
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with specific manufacturing industry processes and IT systems.
• Experience in architectural design and solutioning for large-scale enterprise applications
