Technology Development Manager - Driveline

As a Technology Development Manager-Driveline at Lubrizol, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of new products and technology platforms. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various functions within Lubrizol such as Commercial, Research Development and Testing, Operations, and Sales to execute multi-disciplinary projects that support our consumer lubricants business. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, critical thinking, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You will be at the forefront of new product development and localization initiatives to meet the needs of customers in the IMEA region while aligning with global technology platforms. Your work will involve developing fundamental knowledge to drive the creation of innovative products and maintain a competitive edge in the market. Collaborating closely with commercial teams, you will set product development targets, define deliverables, and establish product design criteria. Additionally, you will nurture relationships with key customers and OEMs, ensuring product integrity and providing technical guidance to the commercial, sales, and customer program management community. In this role, you will be the go-to expert in Driveline technology, offering technical consultation internally and externally. You will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects, develop strategic technical plans, and anticipate industry trends to drive business success. Effective communication and presentation skills will be essential as you engage with different stakeholders within the organization and beyond. Leveraging your expertise, you will generate valuable intellectual property, analyze technical project data, and devise solutions to complex challenges. To excel in this position, you should ideally possess a PhD in Chemistry/Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of industrial experience or a Masters in Chemistry/Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in chemical synthesis and lubricants formulation in an industrial setting. Your in-depth knowledge and experience in various areas such as lubricant additive chemistry, performance testing, and formulating will be key to your success. Strong project management skills, the ability to forge relationships, and a proactive, achievement-oriented mindset are also crucial.
