Techno-Functional Consultant (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central)

Role Purpose

The Techno-Functional Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) will be responsible for end-to-end ownership, optimisation, and support of Macnaught Group’s global ERP environment. This role ensures Business Central adoption, stability, and continuous improvement across all Macnaught locations (Australia, USA, India), working closely with finance, operations, sales, and IT teams.

The ideal candidate is both technical and functional—able to configure, customise, analyse requirements, support users, optimise workflows, and lead enhancements and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Central Ownership & Administration

• Act as the primary owner of BC across all Macnaught entities.
• Manage BC configuration, workflows, security roles, and user permissions.
• Ensure system stability, data integrity, and ongoing performance.
• Coordinate version upgrades, environment refreshes, and release testing.

2. Implementation & Enhancement Projects

• Lead end-to-end BC implementation lifecycle for new sites, modules, and processes.
• Gather business requirements, create functional specs, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work with internal teams and external BC partners for development and customisation.
• Lead UAT, training, go-live support, and hyper-care phases.

3. Process Improvement & Automation

• Analyse existing processes to identify gaps and opportunities for automation.
• Build or customise workflows, extensions, reports, and dashboards.
• Improve data flows between BC and other systems (HubSpot, CRM, Payroll, Warehouse/Inventory systems).
• Support Finance teams in month-end, consolidation, reconciliations, and reporting.

4. Cross-Functional Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide Level 2/3 support to global teams (AU, USA, India) for BC functional and technical issues.
• Document fixes, SOPs, FAQs, and best practices to ensure system adoption.
• Conduct training sessions for new users and teams to drive strong system usage.

5. Data & Reporting

• Maintain master data accuracy (COA, Vendors, Customers, Items, Inventory).
• Build custom reports using Power BI/BC reporting tools.
• Support data migration, cleansing, and bulk upload activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• 6–10 years of experience as a Techno-Functional Consultant in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV).
• Minimum

  2 full end-to-end BC implementations

  (requirement gathering go-live).
• Strong functional understanding of Finance, Inventory, Sales, Procurement, MRP, and Production modules.
• Technical ability to customise BC (AL code knowledge preferred).
• Experience integrating BC with CRM, payroll, or other third-party applications.
• Hands-on experience with workflows, extensions, API integrations, and error debugging.
• Excellent communication skills to work with international stakeholders (AU/USA/India).
• Strong documentation, training, and user-support capability.

Good-to-Have

• Experience with HubSpot or other CRM systems.
• Familiarity with Power BI for reporting.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment domain.
• Microsoft certifications in Business Central.
