Technician - Fire Protection

Position Title:

Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities

1. Reporting & Coordination

• Submit daily work reports for assigned sites to the supervisor/team leader.
• Support the team to ensure work is completed within planned resources, optimizing cost and efficiency.

2. Inspection & Documentation

• Inspect Fire Protection Systems (FPS) and assess conditions.
• Prepare BOQs, quotations, and detailed scopes of work for rectification, modification, testing, commissioning, and Form-B issuance.
• Maintain proper documentation, secure client approvals, and submit reports for billing and records.

3. Maintenance & Rectification

• Conduct maintenance, inspection, perform supply, installation, testing & rectification of:
• Fire extinguishers (inspection, maintenance, and refilling)
• Fire pumps & pump house
• Hydrant & sprinkler systems
• Fire alarm Detection & PA systems
• Execute AMC, inspection, and project rectification tasks.

5. Emergency Response

• Respond to emergency calls and shutdowns promptly.
• Minimize system downtime and repair costs while restoring operational readiness.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe handling of tools, tackles, and equipment.
• Maintain workplace housekeeping and adhere to all safety standards.
• Participate in training, mock drills, and awareness programs.

7. Other Responsibilities

• Perform additional tasks assigned by management related to fire safety systems.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of Fire Protection Systems (FPS) – fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, extinguishers, PA systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and rectification skills.
• Ability to prepare BOQs, reports, and technical documentation.
• Emergency handling and problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork, coordination, and client communication abilities.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Fire & Safety or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in fire protection system maintenance/installation (AMC, projects, rectification).
• Hands-on knowledge of firefighting equipment and systems.
• Experience in handling emergency breakdowns will be an advantage.
