Senior Cad Designer

Role & responsibilities

Review of inputs provided are okay and adequate before starting design and drafting activity.

Prepare sales and approval drawings for the quotes and orders respectively for all valve products

Layout for the valve assembly based on input from Asst Manager/Manager for new valve sizes not available in the product sizes developed.

Developing 3D models for valve components and do valve assembly using standard parts like fasteners, bearings, seals, O-rings etc using Inventor software.

Developing associated 2D manufacturing drawings for valve components and do valve assembly using AutoCAD software.

Create the manufacturing plans in spread sheets for each valve line item specific for respective quotes and orders

Ensuring 2D drawings & 3D models are generated as per the BS&B drawing standards using proper templates, layers and drawing sizes.

Support drawing and image creating activities related to installation instructions; special engineering instructions as needed

Ensure error free drawings, and timely delivery of drawings.

Organizing & maintaining the drawings and other design documents as per the internal ISO 9001 quality standards.

Reporting project status to stake holders as and when required.

Preparing sales & manufacturing drawing logs, time sheets and submitting this to Asst Manager/Manager as needed.

Work with the extended Engineering teams to help improve the drafting function globally as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 5 years extensive experience with latest 3D modelling technologies (Inventor) mandatory.

Minimum 5 years extensive experience with 2D drafting (AutoCAD 2D) mandatory.

Ideally have experience or exposure with data management software (Autodesk Vault or equivalent).

Knowledge of MS office

Technical Qualification, ideally Degree qualified in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Must be fluent in English both written and verbal.

Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Knowledge in Inventor i-logic preferred but not essential.

Basic knowledge of design calculations and bought out item selection (shaft size, bearing, seal or O-ring selection etc) preferred. Knowledge of analysis using Ansys software preferred but not essential

Willing to travel overseas for periods in excess of 1 month if required.
