Job Description: Maintenance Manager (Fire Protection Systems) Overview: The Maintenance Manager is a key leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of critical fire protection systems and associated mechanical and electrical equipment. This includes diesel engines, electric motors, fire pumps, hydrant and sprinkler systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire suppression systems, WLD (Water Leak Detection), VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus), and fire extinguishers. The role ensures the continued reliability, compliance, and optimal performance of all life safety systems across facilities. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial a) Focus and work on business development Diesel Engine and Pumps Servicing area. b) You will negotiate with vendors and suppliers for minimize the cost with effective output. c) Coordinate & Involvement in new & old order conversion. d) Bill Submission to Site/Office and take follow-up for Bill Booking in Client AC end. e) Payment Recovery for outstanding and within time line of payment lead time. f) Assist in budget planning and expenditure tracking related to maintenance and repair activities. g) Identify cost-effective solutions while maintaining the quality and reliability of equipment. 2. Customer i. Cost a) Ensure that the resources are planned and utilized in the best possible manner optimizing the cost. b) Ensure the minimum revisit/reworks for completion of system installation/maintenance. c) Cross check & Tracking of Planned vs. Actual measurements/work of work completion in totality. d) Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance and repairs. Monitor stock levels, anticipate needs, and procure necessary items to support maintenance activities. ii. Quality a) Respond to emergency calls for maintenance & Shutdown to make the systems in Operational at minimum Cost and time. b) Manage relationships with Customer, contractors and service providers. c) You will be responsible for customer (external & internal) satisfaction. d) Repairs and Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and address issues with diesel engines, pumps, and related components. Coordinate and supervise repair work, ensuring timely and effective solutions are implemented to minimize downtime. Collaborate with technical teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical problems. iii. Delivery a) Maintenance Oversight Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and protocols for diesel engines, fire pumps, and associated equipment. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. Plan and execute maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, industry standards, and regulations. b) Monitor the lead team and assigned work and take updates of Work Status (Completed, ongoing & upcoming) as on required c) Coordination with Purchase/Material Dept. for required material dispatch at site on given timeline. d) You will be involved and do complete the work on time as per requirement as mentioned here (Supply, installation, testing and commissioning) Fire Pump & Pump House, Hydrant & Sprinkler Systems, Fire Extinguisher, Project/Rectification Activity, AMC, Inspection, Training & awareness, Documents & Other Coordination. e) Guide team for Measurement/Reporting to be done in standard format, consulting Client and get it done with approval from client and submit to office for billing and further process. f) Emergency Response Preparedness: Develop and oversee emergency response plans related to equipment failures or malfunctions. Participate in drills and exercises to test the readiness of fire suppression systems. g) Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance history, and recommended improvements. 3. Process improvements a) Improve the maintenance facilities to dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs work. b) You will develop cross-functional co-ordination for smooth running of business. c) Delegate tasks to meet maintenance schedule and satisfy employer needs d) Taking reviews from team as on required (daily/weekly/Monthly). e) Built a team for Inspection of FPS to know condition of system & other information to Provide Quotation BOQ in details with Scope of Work in term of Rectification, Modification, Issuing Form-B, and Execution Testing & Commissioning. f) Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in maintenance procedures. g) Team Management: Lead a team of technicians and maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion. 4. Learning & Development a) Developing maintenance procedures and ensuring implementation b) Identify areas of improvement (employee/process) and suggest to improvement. c) Conducting Training & Motivation to AMC team every month or as required. d) Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements in fire protection systems. 5. Safety, Sustainability & Environment a) Ensure health and safety policies are compiled at work place. b) Monitor the Tools tackles handling, W.P. housekeeping etc. to be maintained properly at site. c) Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant safety regulations and standards. Monitor compliance with local, national, and international fire safety codes and regulations.
