Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer in Bangalore with 2-7 years of experience, you will be responsible for creating, developing, planning, writing, and editing operational, instructional, maintenance, or test procedures for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication. Your role will involve conducting interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. You will research and translate technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for both non-technical and technical users. Additionally, you will be expected to recommend formats that are responsive to technical and customer requirements and produce products that conform to the company's documentation and quality assurance standards. Your responsibilities will also include creating and updating User Documentation and/or online help for the assigned project according to BU documentation requirements and standards. Furthermore, you will need to generate clear and concise documentation for projects based on client/BU requirements. To excel in this role, you must learn and understand the product usage to appropriately prepare user documents. You will be required to customize content to meet the user needs for understanding and using the product features. Researching and understanding technical documents to establish a basic technical understanding of the project will also be a part of your job. Moreover, identifying relevant information sources to clarify understanding of the project/product within the team and client/BU will be crucial. Additionally, you will be expected to develop a deeper knowledge of various documentation tools such as Authoring tools (RoboHelp, MS Word, FrameMaker, etc.), Screen capture tools (SnagIT, etc.), and Graphic Design tools (MS Paint, PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, etc.). As a Technical Writer with industry experience in IT/Computers-Software, your key skills should include proficiency in Technical Writing, Agile Scrum, Kanban, and MadCap Flare.
