Technical Writer

You are a detail-oriented and self-motivated Technical Writer seeking an opportunity to join the Software Engineering team at Bose Professional. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering and product management to create user documentation supporting software product development for technical audiences. Your responsibilities will include writing, editing, and designing help files, participating in documentation planning sessions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather technical data for precise user documentation. Key Responsibilities: - Write, edit, and design help files for both new and existing software products. - Participate in documentation planning sessions and maintain project status using project management tools like Jira. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical data for user documentation development. - Create images and videos to enhance customer usability. - Report usability and functional concerns to the Engineering team. - Recommend documentation formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. - Work with the development team to improve internal knowledge of software programs. Qualifications: - Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills with proficiency in grammar. - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. - Adaptability to variable project requirements and deadlines. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. - Understanding of high-level software architecture and ability to simplify complex technical material. - Proficiency in MadCap Flare, HTML5, CSS, Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, and Adobe Creative Suite. - Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Professional Writing, or related field, or equivalent experience. - 5+ years of experience producing technical documentation for software products. - 3+ years of experience in designing user experiences through technical documentation.
