Area(s) of responsibility Primary knowledge of the Backup tools is mandatory (e.g. VEEAM, Commvault, PPDM, Azure, Avamar, Networker, Arcserve, and Rubrik is considered secondary). Secondary knowledge of the Storage is mandatory (e.g. Pure Storage, NetApp, IBM, Nimble, Dell Power etc.) Good understanding of storage architecture/zoning/capacity management/migration/DR. Knowledge on various backup technologies such are File/Server Backup, Exchange archival, BareMetal Backup, Cloud backup, Database Backup, Virtual Host Backup, and system restores. Resolution of backup/recovery service disruptions and implementation of preventative measures. Identify & perform backup environment system tuning Schedule management, Adhoc backup request execution. Monitor all backups timely and able troubleshooting issue Perform routine disaster recovery scenarios Troubleshoot Replication errors Maintain backup policies and standards Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, disk, and tape storage devices Performs continuous research and audits to ensure continuous and high levels of performance, security and availability of network and operating systems and peripheral devices. Vendor management Provide all tier operational support of storage environments, maintaining ownership and a deep technical knowledge Able to troubleshoot complex storage problems and provide cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex customer requirements and SLAs. Storage allocation and de-allocation and expansion Good understanding of storage and SAN switches Must have detailed knowledge of RAID, SCSI, SAN, and NAS. Experience with iSCSI is a plus.
