Technical Sales Support Engineer

As a Technical Sales Support Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing front-line technical support for packaged generator set products, leading product sizing and application engineering, and developing technical proposals for power generation systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing technical support to dealers and sales teams for LV & MV generator set products - Leading product sizing, selection, and application engineering - Developing technical proposals and responding to RFPs and tenders - Conducting product demonstrations and presentations to customers and consultants - Understanding customer requirements and recommending tailored solutions - Developing quotations for custom solutions beyond standard offerings - Providing project-specific technical guidance and interfacing with core engineering teams - Designing single-line diagrams, network layouts, and interconnection wiring for generator and switchgear systems - Integrating third-party controllers and developing control systems - Developing technical documentation, training materials, and reference white papers - Delivering product application training to internal teams and external stakeholders Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in power systems or related fields, strong technical knowledge of genset controllers and electrical system architecture, excellent communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred qualifications include prior field experience with customers or distributors, knowledge of compliance and regulatory changes, and experience in turnkey project execution.
