Technical & Production Head - VP/ SVP

Role & responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production strategies to meet annual tonnage, yield, and quality targets across SMS, Caster, and Rolling Mill.
• Plan production schedules, capacity utilization, and downtime optimization.
• Coordinate inter-departmentally (Maintenance, Quality, Materials ) for smooth operations.

B. Technical Excellence

• Drive process optimization in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) operations, secondary metallurgy, casting, and rolling.
• Lead technology upgrades and automation projects.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of NDT systems for product certification.
• Troubleshoot metallurgical and process-related issues.

C. Quality , Compliance & TPM

• Maintain adherence to BIS, ISO and customer-specific quality standards.

• Ensure accurate documentation for certification where applicable.
• Oversee root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and initiate corrective & preventive actions.
• Exposure of working in TPM environment

D. People & Team Management

• Lead, train, and mentor Team members
• Foster a safety-first work culture and enforce PPE and SOP compliance.
• Plan manpower deployment and skill enhancement programs.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions.

E. Cost & Efficiency Control

• Monitor consumption of key inputs (power, electrodes, ferro-alloys, refractories, lubricants).
• Implement cost-reduction projects without compromising quality.

Benchmark plant performance against industry best practices

• Oversee root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and initiate corrective & preventive actions.
• Exposure of working in TPM environment

D. People & Team Management

• Lead, train, and mentor Team members
• Foster a safety-first work culture and enforce PPE and SOP compliance.
• Plan manpower deployment and skill enhance practices.
• Promote energy efficiency

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy (M.Tech preferred)
