Programming & Scripting: (Must-Have) Languages: C, Shell Scripting (Python is a plus). Networking & Protocols: (Must-Have 2 from below) Layer 2 Protocols: IEEE 802.1X, STP, RSTP, LLDP, VLAN, Redundancy Protocols (MRP, SRM, etc.). Layer 3 Protocols: Routing (OSPF, BGP, VRRP, RIP, ARP, etc.). Industrial Protocols: Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA, DNS, NTP. Security & Cryptography : (Good to have) Security Standards: IPSEC, Secure Boot, Signed Firmware, Certificate Validation, TACACS+, MACsec. Crypto Libraries: OpenSSL, mbedTLS, WolfSSL, etc. Management & Debugging: (Must-Have) Management Plane: SNMP, CLI, Web-based Network Management. Debugging Tools: GDB, Lauterbach. Testing & Automation: (Good to have) Security Testing: Nessus, Achilles, Codenomicon, SilverCreek, OpenVAS. TraUic Generators: IXIA, Spirent, Scapy. Version Control & CI/CD: (Must-Have) Tools: Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins. Operating Systems & Hardware: (Must-Have at least 1) Linux: Strong command over Linux OS, U-Boot, Linux Kernel. ASICs: Experience with Broadcom, Marvell, or other industry-standard L2/L3 switching ASICs. Certifications (Preferred): PROFINET Certification (v2.41). ENIP Certification (CT16).
