Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight & Quality Gateway:

  Serve as the ultimate quality gateway for the

team's output. Lead code reviews, architectural design sessions, and technical decision-making to ensure all solutions are robust, scalable, and adhere to established standards.

• Architectural Guidance:

  Translate product requirements into sound technical designs

and architectural patterns. Ensure the team's work aligns with the broader platform vision and long-term technical strategy.

• Project Execution & Delivery:

  Partner with the Product Owner to break down complex features into well-defined technical tasks. Proactively identify and resolve technical risks

and blockers to ensure the team consistently delivers on its commitments.

• Hands-On Development:

  Remain a significant, hands-on contributor to the codebase.

Lead by example by writing clean, high-quality code for critical features and tackling the

most complex technical challenges.

• Technical Mentorship:

  Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers on the

team. Foster a culture of learning and high standards through pair programming,

knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.

• Process Improvement:

  Identify and advocate for improvements to the team's

development processes, tooling, and best practices to increase velocity and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  10+ years of hands-on software development experience, including at least

3+ years in a Tech Lead, Staff/Principal Engineer, or senior mentorship capacity

where you were responsible for the technical output of a team.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills:

Proven experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to an

engineering team.

Ability to translate high-level business requirements into a clear technical strategy and actionable tasks.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to build consensus on technical decisions.

Strong skills in technical planning, identifying risks, and managing technical debt.

GraphQL & API Expertise:

Expert-level knowledge of GraphQL Federation (Apollo Federation or a similar

spec) and experience architecting and implementing federated gateways
