Description
As a Data Engineer at Inspire Brands, you will collaborate with Product Managers and Business Owners across multiple Business Segments to gather requirements for data capability enablement in a Cloud-based Unified Data Platform. Your main responsibilities will include converting these requirements into user stories in Jira board, mapping data from primary and secondary sources to tables in a Cloud-based Data Lake/Warehouse, and analyzing source systems data using SQL to evaluate business needs and drive requirement work. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating comprehensive documentation to help stakeholders understand the data analysis process, providing guidance to the Testing Team on Test Cases, and conducting unit/system testing when necessary. Your role will also involve maintaining technical data definitions. To qualify for this position, you should hold a four-year degree in Information Systems, Finance/Mathematics, or Computer Science, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. You must possess extensive expertise in translating business requirements into technical specifications for Data Engineering, be skilled in Data Mapping and Data Modeling, and demonstrate proficiency in SQL and data principles related to Business Intelligence. A solid understanding of technical systems, big data concepts on the cloud (e.g., raw zone, domain layer, cloud Data Warehouse), and experience working on projects of varying sizes and complexities are crucial. In this role, your ability to manage competing priorities, work on multiple threads of Requirement works simultaneously, and operate effectively in an Agile environment while communicating efficiently with Product Managers and Business Users for data requirements is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team are highly valued. You should also possess a proactive approach to problem-solving, effective influencing skills, and a self-driven attitude in a matrix organization. Prior experience in the Restaurant Industry would be advantageous.
