Job Description

Strategic Having knowledge of firefighting equipment design criteria as per relevant codes & standards applicable for chemical industries. Build Assurance systems on Fire & Emergency preparedness. Prepare fire safety reports and statistical information for Management or Board committees as required. Able to coordinate for design, development and execution for new installation related to Fire safety systems. Maintain ECC in good working condition Review drawings & design of firefighting equipment during any new project. Ensure compliance of all relevant codes & standards in firefighting equipment installation. Responsible for reliability & healthiness of all firefighting equipment in the plants to maintain all equipment in ready to use condition. Responsible for inventory management of all firefighting equipment & spares based on min/max strategy. Develop ERT members and ensure periodical training for handling any emergency at site. Gap assessment of existing firefighting system of site & changes to be done as per identified gaps. Ensure compliance of relevant legal codes & standards related to fire at site. Operational & Financial Ensure fire risk assessments, inspections and audits across the site Responsible for managing all shift activities Maintain ECC in good working condition Review fire & emergency manual and other documents and ensure timely updating Conduct table top, L-1 & L-2 mock drill at site Keep all emergency equipments & systems update and ready to use. Carrying out preventive maintenance for all firefighting appliances (Mobile, static and portable) Full support to the plant team to carry out critical jobs (Hot works, Confined space etc.) Support in accident / Incident investigation and CAPA recommendation. Impart periodical training to all plant employees for fire & emergency mitigation plan and techniques Develop and implement fire safety emergency plans and procedures for all applicable areas across the site. Prepare ERT members training schedule & conduct trainings as per schedule. Audits of all firefighting systems of plant & necessary actions for rectification of identified deviations. Ensure 100% compliance of any audit findings within time frame. People Ensure safety & high productivity of ERT, ECT members at the workplace. Educate fire fighters & ERT members on upgradation of firefighting system. Conduct suitable training, TBT and educational program for the prevention of injuries during emergency response & maintenance work. Preferred candidate profile B.E./ B. Tech - Fire Having knowledge of relevant codes & standards related to fire department. Having good leadership quality. Should be able to provide directions to ERT & fire fighters during an emergency response. Having technical knowledge of design and development of firefighting system & equipment. Should be able to provide relevant inputs in approval of Fire Protection system, Fire and Gas detection systems. Able to monitor and implementation of firefighting equipment inspection & maintenance schedule. Having experience of handing emergency situations in manufacturing emergency.
