Job Role - Team Lead (Debit & Credit Cards Vertical)

We are seeking an experienced team lead to manage the Debit & Credit Cards vertical within the Information Technology department. The role requires strong leadership, deep understanding of card management systems, payment networks, and the ability to architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient solutions supporting card issuance, lifecycle management, and transaction processing.

The team lead will partner closely with business, operations, compliance, and vendor partners to ensure seamless delivery of card-related initiatives, regulatory compliance, and best-in-class customer experience.

Location: Vashi, Navi Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead a team of business analysts in designing, building, and maintaining debit and credit card technology solutions.
  • Ensure end-to-end delivery of projects, including requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Drive adoption of engineering best practices, PCI DSS Compliance.

Domain Expertise:

  • Manage and enhance card management systems (CMS) and integration with core banking systems, payment networks (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), and regulatory platforms (RBI/PCI standards).
  • Oversee functionalities such as card issuance, PIN management, card controls, transaction processing, loyalty/rewards, dispute management, and chargebacks.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, RBI, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business teams, risk, compliance, and operations teams to align business requirements with technical solutions.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors, processors, and payment gateway providers to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Communicate technical direction and progress to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies such as tokenization, contactless payments, mobile wallet integrations, and API-driven services.
  • Drive automation, system scalability, and resilience improvements.
  • Lead initiatives around fraud detection, real-time monitoring, and analytics in card transactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

B.E. / B.Tech. /Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

  • 1015 years of overall IT experience, with at least 35 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong background in payments, debit/credit card platforms, or fintech domain.
  • Hands-on experience with card management systems, ISO 8583/ISO 20022 messaging, EMV, tokenization, and payment gateway integrations.
  • Familiarity with microservices, APIs, databases (RDBMS/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Strong understanding of security, encryption, fraud detection, and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, RBI guidelines, GDPR).
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with ability to motivate and upskill teams.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
