Job Title – Teacher
Start Date – ASAP
Location – Mumbai
Working Hours – 8 hrs / day, flexible between 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
Education – B.Ed degree is mandatory
Experience Level – 0 to 3 years of hands-on experience in special education or a related field
Salary - Rs. 35,000 - 45,000/-

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to support young adults with special needs in their learning and career development journey. The ideal candidate will adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs, foster life and employability skills, and collaborate with schools, NGOs, and local employers to enable holistic development and successful job placements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to various schools and NGO partner locations to provide training and support.
  • Use inclusive communication methods, including sign language when necessary, to engage effectively with students.
  • Customize teaching strategies to accommodate a range of special needs and learning styles.
  • Prepare students for employment through life skills and vocational training.
  • Build rapport with students to offer guidance, counseling, and motivation.
  • Conduct local job mapping to identify suitable employment opportunities for young adults with special needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress, achievements, and training activities.
  • Present regular reports on student development and program outcomes to the reporting manager.
  • Conduct sensitization sessions at employer sites to promote inclusive hiring practices and create supportive work environments.
  • Provide on-the-job training and post-placement support to ensure successful workplace integration.

1) Training & Support Visits
  • Number of school/NGO partner visits completed per month
  • Percentage of planned training sessions delivered on schedule

2) Inclusive Communication & Engagement
  • Successful use of inclusive communication methods (e.g., sign language) documented per session
  • Student engagement score/feedback ratings

3) Customized Teaching Strategies
  • Number of individualized teaching plans created and implemented
  • Improvement in student performance based on pre- and post-assessment

4) Life Skills & Vocational Training
  • Number of students trained in life skills and vocational modules
  • Percentage of students demonstrating skill competency

5) Student Counseling & Rapport Building
  • Number of counseling/mentorship sessions conducted
  • Student satisfaction or wellbeing improvement indicators

6) Local Job Mapping & Employer Engagement
  • Number of employers mapped and contacted
  • Number of job opportunities identified per quarter

7)Record Keeping & Documentation
  • Timeliness and accuracy of student progress records
  • Audit score for documentation completeness

8) Reporting
  • Submission of monthly/quarterly reports within deadlines
  • Quality rating of reports by the reporting manager

9) Sensitization & Inclusion Advocacy
  • Number of sensitization sessions conducted at employer sites
  • Employer feedback or improvement in inclusion readiness

10) On-the-Job Training & Post-Placement Support
  • Number of students placed successfully
  • Retention rate of placed students after 3 or 6 months
  • Number of workplace follow-up visits conducted

  • Proficiency in data collection, validation, and reporting.

  • Understanding of disability inclusion and rural livelihoods.
