Tax Specialist

You will be supporting the India country tax manager at AkzoNobel in optimizing the tax position of the companies in India in compliance with the law and global business and tax principles. Your main responsibilities will include: - Preparing local GST and CIT returns - Managing local indirect tax and direct tax audit and inquiries from tax authorities - Handling local indirect tax and direct tax litigation/appeals/assessments - Monitoring local tax regulation changes and supporting timely communication with key stakeholders - Representing the company at indirect and direct tax trainings/meetings - Exploring initiatives with the country tax manager to mitigate risks or capture opportunities from a tax perspective - Supporting local indirect tax and direct tax incentive scheme applications - Designing and ensuring GST Credit accounting accuracy - Providing E-invoice implementation support - Assisting in GST implication advisory for relevant projects - Performing reconciliations of tax credits to mitigate any loss - Coordinating with I2P teams to ensure timely booking and utilization of GST credits - Ensuring compliant documentation for financial transactions - Preparing local filing of transfer pricing documentation, Master file, and CBCR notification - Assisting in direct tax implication advisory for relevant projects - Coordinating regional charge documentation/segmentation sheets - Supporting with special business event local transfer pricing documentation - Working on IFRS tax reporting and current/deferred tax positions - Assisting the Accounting Controller with Statutory Tax requirements Qualifications required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, or taxation - At least 5 years of experience in in-house tax roles or with consultancy firms (big 4) - Adequate knowledge in tax matters and SAP - Advanced user of Microsoft Excel This role will report to the country tax manager, India.,
