About the Role

Tax & Regulatory Support Specialists

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to

  complex tax and regulatory queries

  related to securities transactions within

  2448 hour SLA

• Perform and validate

  tax calculations

  for equity, derivatives, fixed income, and crypto transactions
• Support

  year-end tax reporting

  , including validation of annual tax certificates
• Handle

  withholding tax adjustments, tax reclaims, and loss offsetting

• Review and resolve discrepancies between

  tax systems and back-office records

• Manage

  escalations related to regulatory and tax reporting

• Communicate tax concepts clearly to non-technical customers

Mandatory Experience Requirements

Domain Experience (Minimum 23 Years)

• Capital Markets Customer Support with hands-on exposure to:
• Equity transactions (Stocks & ETFs)
• Derivatives (Options, Futures, Warrants)
• Fixed Income instruments
• Cryptocurrency transactions
• Corporate Actions

German Tax Framework (Hands-on Experience Required)

• Kapitalertragsteuer / Abgeltungssteuer (26.375% flat tax)
• Withholding tax on dividends & Double Taxation Treaties
• Freistellungsauftrag (Tax Exemption Orders)
• Verlustverrechnungstpfe (Loss Pots & Offsetting)
• Jahressteuerbescheinigung (Annual Tax Certificates)

European / International Tax Exposure

• Investment taxation for

  Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Netherlands

• Taxation of Stocks, ETFs, Bonds & Derivatives
• Taxation of Interest, Dividends & Coupon Payments
• Withholding tax and cross-border tax rules
• Annual tax reporting and loss offsetting

Technical Competencies

Tax Calculation & Reporting

• FIFO and Average Cost Basis methods
• Realized vs Unrealized Gains
• Dividend taxation (including foreign dividends)
• Corporate action tax impact (splits, mergers, spin-offs)
• Multi-currency transaction tax calculations

Data & Reconciliation

• Transaction reconciliation between tax and back-office systems
• Validation of tax statements and certificates
• Identifying discrepancies between ledgers and tax reports
• Cost basis adjustments and transaction reprocessing
• Ability to work with

  large datasets

Skills & Qualifications

Numerical & Analytical Skills

• Advanced

  MS Excel

  (complex formulas, calculations)
• Strong financial and percentage-based calculations
• High attention to detail with rounding and decimal precision
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies and resolve issues

Language & Communication

• English proficiency C1 level or above

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain complex tax concepts to customers

Systems Exposur

• Tax reporting tools/software
• CRM systems for case management

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates with experience in the following will be highly preferred:

• European retail banks with brokerage operations
• Online brokers operating in Germany
• Big 4 Tax Advisory firms
• BPO / Shared Services supporting European financial institutions
• German tax or financial software companies

Must-Have

• Minimum

  2 years of financial services customer support experience

• Proven hands-on experience with

  German investment taxation

• Quantitative aptitude score

  above 80%

• Ability to solve a

  practical tax calculation case study
