Position Description:
This position will be part of Danaher s International Tax Team and will be responsible for providing direct and indirect tax support mainly for Danaher s India operating and holding companies, including tax planning, tax governance, US and Indian GAAP tax accounting and reporting. The position will also maintain close contact with operating companies to gain a full understanding of the businesses and help by providing advice and guidance necessary to ensure compliance with the relevant law, obtaining external advice where necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will report to the Senior Director Asia Pacific Tax and will be the principal Tax Contact for Danaher in India.
Tax Advisory and Planning
- Assist Opcos with direct and indirect tax matters arising from operational planning e.g. establishing new entities, eliminating redundant entities, supply chain changes.
- Review and implement proposed transactions including potential acquisitions, disposals and internal reorganisations.
- Review and implement rationalisation of the corporate structure and associated elimination of dormant companies.
- In conjunction with Danaher Treasury and local Finance, identify/facilitate plans to repatriate cash in a tax-efficient manner.
- Keep up to date with major tax regulation changes and advise management accordingly.
- Maintain close contact with key financial managers at the operating companies to build an understanding of the business, financial statements and forecasts in order to advise on any proposed transactions and identify areas of tax risk.
Tax Governance
- Manage Danaher s Tax Governance in India and comply with Indian legislation.
- Perform internal reviews of the operating companies processes to ensure the effective management of direct and indirect taxes.
- Liaison between Indian operating companies and Corporate TP team to support timely preparation of TP reports .
Tax compliance and reporting
Danaher internal tax reporting
- Own the tax reporting calendar.
- Support the preparation and review Indian tax compliance packages in coordination with Danaher Tax Compliance team.
- Support preparation and review of tax provision packages, including GAAP adjustments and FIN48.
- Maintain tax payments and support cash tax forecast.
- Review legal entity profit forecasts throughout the year for Effective Tax Rate monitoring.
Local country tax compliance
- Manage Indian tax compliance, maintaining close contact with tax advisors (consultants).
- Manage relationships with external advisers and field questions from opcos regarding tax related matters.
- Review of corporate-tax related outputs for companies in the territory, including tax numbers and disclosures in local statutory accounts, local corporation tax returns and US reporting packages.
- Review of tax forecasts.
- Manage Corporate Income Tax Payments in accordance with Corporate procedures.
- Manage relationships and tax audits with Tax Authorities in accordance with Corporate policies.
- Participate in investment impairment reviews for the local financial statements.
- Understand the activities of non-resident entities within the territory from a domestic PE perspective and the non-resident activities of the entities in the territory from an international PE perspective.
Critical Success Factors:
- Must be able to build excellent working relationships with operating company finance managers, advisors, auditors as well as Danaher corporate tax, treasury and finance colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Masters Degree or CPA is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of tax experience in accounting firm and/or corporate industry, preferably a combination of both.
Knowledge and skills:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines with a strong sense of ownership.
- Demonstrated data analytics and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of US international tax regime.
- General understanding of ASC740.
- Solid technology skills including mid-to-advanced usage of Excel and ability to navigate new technological solutions. Experience with CorpTax a plus.
