Job Description

A Tandoor Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Indian tandoori dishes by using traditional clay ovens (tandoors). The role requires strong knowledge of Indian spices, marination techniques, heat control, and cooking timings to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook tandoori menu items such as naan, roti, kulcha, kebabs, tikka, fish, chicken, breads, and grilled items. Handle marination, portioning, and prep work according to recipes and quality standards. Operate and maintain the tandoor oven including temperature control and fuel management. Ensure all dishes are cooked with proper texture, flavor, and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the tandoor section at all times. Assist in planning and preparing special menu items as required. Ensure food safety standards (FSSAI guidelines) are followed. Coordinate with the Head Chef and other team members for smooth kitchen operations. Monitor stock levels and report shortages of raw materials. Train junior staff or helpers when needed.
