The Opportunity:
UST is looking for System Administrator
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systems in lab environments.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform OS patching, driver/firmware updates, and security compliance tasks.
- Configure and manage virtualized environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker/Kubernetes).
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network connectivity issues in a lab setup.
- Automate routine sysadmin tasks using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts.
- Maintain system health monitoring dashboards and logs (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar). Support backup, recovery, and data management procedures.
- Collaborate with lab support, validation, and IT teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and inventory records.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server administration.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall basics. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker).
- Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with configuration/automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar) preferred.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in multi-platform environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Qualification:
- bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics, IT, or related field.
- 3–5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator in IT infrastructure or lab environments.
- Relevant certifications (Linux+, RHCE, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware) are desirable
