Job Summary

Synergy Group


This role involves handling ITSM processes, managing hardware/software/network troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability of IT systems for Synergy Groups diverse operational needs, including maritime and shore-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Support & Operations

  • Provide

    L1 and L2

    IT support for office systems, networks, and applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues within defined SLAs.
  • Configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.

2. Incident, Service Request & Escalation Management

  • Manage IT ticketing system (

    Freshdesk or equivalent

    ) to log, track, and resolve issues.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to L3, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or cloud teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software repairs.

3. IT Systems Administration

  • Manage

    Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory

    , and VPN user accounts.
  • Administer user access, permissions, and security settings.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and backups.

4. IT Process Improvement

  • Suggest automation or self-service solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Identify recurring IT issues and work on preventive measures.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with

    IT security policies

    , GDPR, and company standards.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, license tracking, and software compliance records.
  • Document IT configurations, troubleshooting steps, and procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of

    Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, VPN

    , and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with ITSM tools like

    ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice

    .
  • Understanding of cybersecurity basics and IT compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop solutions,

    Azure/AWS

    , and basic automation tools.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

    (Preferred)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator

  • CompTIA A+ / Network+

    or equivalent

Experience

  • 58 years

    in IT support/system administration roles.
  • Experience in the

    maritime industry

    or multi-location IT support is an added advantage.
