Job Description: You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and safe swimming program that focuses on developing students' water safety skills, swimming techniques, and overall physical fitness. Your role as a Swimming Coach will involve creating a positive environment that promotes participation, discipline, and sportsmanship in both recreational and competitive swimming. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver swimming lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels. - Teach water safety, stroke techniques (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly), starts, turns, and endurance training. - Customize instruction based on the proficiency levels of beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers. - Ensure strict supervision to maintain safety protocols during all activities. - Conduct pre-session pool checks and ensure all safety equipment is operational and easily accessible. - Enforce pool rules and school safety policies consistently. - Develop a structured swimming curriculum that aligns with the school's physical education program and international standards. - Organize skill assessments and maintain records of student progress and achievements. - Provide opportunities for students to explore both recreational and competitive aspects of swimming. - Identify and train students for various competitions and events. - Plan and coordinate swimming meets, friendly matches, and annual sports events. - Travel with and supervise students during competitions or off-site training sessions. - Maintain the pool, filtration system, safety equipment, and inventory of swimming gear. - Report any hazards or malfunctions promptly to the appropriate authorities. - Promote water confidence, teamwork, personal discipline, and resilience among students. - Support the inclusion of all students, including those with limited swimming experience or additional learning needs. - Collaborate with the PE department and extracurricular teams on scheduling, interdisciplinary programs, and student support. - Maintain open communication with students, parents, and school leadership regarding progress, concerns, and upcoming events. - Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher interactions, and professional development sessions. Qualifications Required: - Certified Swimming Instructor/Coach (e.g., ASCA, STA, ASA, AUSTSWIM, Red Cross, or equivalent) - Valid Lifeguard Certification (required) - First Aid & CPR Certification (required) - Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field (preferred) - Minimum 25 years of experience coaching swimming, preferably in an international or school setting - Experience preparing students for competitions (desirable) Job Description: You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and safe swimming program that focuses on developing students' water safety skills, swimming techniques, and overall physical fitness.
