Sustainability & Wastewater Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

• Familiarity with environmental compliance standards, especially GPCB regulations.

• Ensure strict adherence to environmental laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for ETP operations, hazardous waste management, and utility systems.
• Prepare reports and documentation for audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.
• Collaborate with the EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) team to enhance workplace safety standards.
• Implement safety protocols to mitigate environmental risks.
• Conduct training programs for staff on waste management and utility operations.

Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Management

• Supervise the operation and maintenance of the ETP to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Monitor wastewater treatment processes and continuously optimize performance.
• Ensure efficient functioning of filtration, aeration, and chemical treatment systems.
• Conduct regular testing and analysis of treated effluent to meet quality standards.
• Possess working knowledge of MEE (Multiple Effect Evaporator), ATFD (Agitated Thin Film Dryer), and RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems.
• Maintain and update ETP, MEE, and ATFD log sheets accurately.
• Keep records of area cleaning activities.
• Acquire knowledge of internal and external drainage systems as required.

Solid & Hazardous Waste Management

1. Implement and oversee hazardous waste disposal procedures in accordance with GPCB (Gujarat Pollution Control Board) guidelines.
2. Ensure proper segregation, storage, and category-wise transportation of hazardous waste.
3. Maintain detailed records of waste generation, treatment, and disposal.
4. Coordinate with authorized waste disposal vendors and regulatory bodies

Utility Handling

• Manage utilities, including distillation plants, chillers, and cooling tower systems.
• Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot utility equipment.
• Promote energy efficiency and support sustainability initiatives
