Position- Supply Chain Manager /Production Planning Manager

Job Location- Bavla - Ahmedabad

The SCM / Production Planning Manager will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain management and production planning . The role involves demand forecasting, raw material and packaging planning, production scheduling, inventory management, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely availability of finished products to meet market demand while optimizing cost and maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Control

• Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecast and market demand.
• Align production capacity with seasonal demand fluctuations (peak summer, festive seasons, etc).
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure smooth plant performance.
• Optimize plant capacity utilization ,track KPIS (Downtime, Wastage, fill rates & drive improvements.
  

Demand & Supply Planning

• Consolidate monthly demand plans in coordination with Sales & Marketing teams.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels of RM, PM, and finished goods to balance availability and working capital.
• Manage cold chain planning for storage and distribution.
  

SCM Operations & Logistics

• Oversee dispatch planning and distribution across depots, distributors, and retail channels.
• Monitor and optimize cold storage capacity utilization and logistics costs.
• Ensure 100% adherence to food safety and cold chain compliance during storage and transportation.
• Drive vendor management, sourcing efficiency, and timely procurement.
  

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

• Implement best practices in SCM and production planning to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
• Analyze cost drivers and implement measures to reduce supply chain and production costs.
• Use ERP / SAP tools for better planning, reporting, and decision-making.
• Enable smooth roll out of new product launches through production Planning.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of production planning and SCM processes in FMCG / dairy / ice cream industry.
• Expertise in demand forecasting, inventory management, and cold chain logistics.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel / ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Team leadership, cross-functional coordination, and vendor negotiation skills.
• Problem-solving ability and adaptability to seasonal business demands.
  

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelors / Masters degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 7 To 12 years of experience in SCM / Production Planning, preferably in FMCG / dairy / ice cream sector.
