Supplier Quality Development (Purchase)

Role & responsibilities:

• Must be well versed with Automotive Interior Exterior Commodities like IP, Console, Seating, Headliner, Extrusion & Glasses
• Must be well versed with Automotive Special Process like Plating / Plastic & Metal Welding Etc
• Must have working knowledge for Injection Moulds design and development.
• Lead the part development cycle with supplier and supplier plant readiness as per project time plan
• Under new product or supplier sourcing, conduct Potential supplier audit and assess manufacturing and quality system and share audit scoring as per MGI PSA procedure
• Integrate Failure Mode Avoidance processes through Manufacturing Feasibility assessments, PFMEA, Special Characteristics & Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (GR&R), Capacity Analysis reviews, enforcing Manufacturing Process Standards compliance and validation of implementation on suppliers production/manufacturing floor.
• Drive Supplier Quality Performance improvements in ongoing/current production Quality Rejects and Warranty through Manufacturing Site assessment.
• Develop and drive all organizational governance process and corporate training requirements.
• PPAP audit and Run @ Rate at supplier for ensuring defect free supplies with required rate of production
• Having experience in handling warranty issues and field issues of Interior & Exterior Parts.
• In conjunction with the Supplier Quality Assurance function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials on the production area quality.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality strategy
• Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to Quality matters

Preferred candidate profile:

• Knowledge of major automobile parts, manufacturing process and Quality techniques like APQP, PPAP, Problem Solving with suppliers and Control on supplier Tier 1 and Tier 2 team for development
• Good team player, Interpersonal Skills, willing to travel extensively to suppliers and maintain good relations with all other functions of Engineering, Purchase and Manufacturing
