As a Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing at Amgen, you will play a crucial role in leading high-impact procurement initiatives, driving cost optimization strategies, and enhancing supplier performance across various categories. Your strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential in delivering business value. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing global strategic sourcing strategies to drive cost savings, efficiency, and supplier value creation. You will lead high-value negotiations and contract management to optimize supplier terms, risk mitigation, and long-term partnerships. Managing procurement processes across multiple categories to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance requirements will be a crucial aspect of your role. By identifying and driving cost-saving initiatives through leveraging industry benchmarks and best practices, you will contribute to the overall success of the organization. In this role, you will be required to analyze large and complex procurement datasets to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks. Utilizing advanced analytics tools to generate insights, create executive-level reports, and support strategic decision-making will be part of your responsibilities. Implementing data-driven performance metrics to enhance sourcing efficiency and supplier management will also be a key focus area. Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to enhance quality, reliability, and innovation will be crucial in supplier and stakeholder management. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and business units, to align sourcing strategies with company objectives will be essential. By facilitating effective cross-functional collaboration, you will ensure seamless procurement execution and value delivery. Your role will also involve developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions, ensuring adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals. Driving supplier diversity, ESG initiatives, and responsible sourcing practices will also be part of your responsibilities. To excel in this position, you must have significant strategic sourcing experience across a broad range of categories, strong project management skills, stellar supplier negotiation skills, and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Experience with Global Procurement e-Sourcing and CLM Tools, cross-functional team management skills, and people management experience are also essential. Additionally, you should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams, navigate ambiguity, show a high degree of initiative and self-motivation, manage multiple priorities successfully, and have a team-oriented approach with a focus on achieving team goals. Influencing and change management skills will also be valuable in this role. Basic qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
