Strategic Purchase Engineer

Responsible for assuring the supply of assigned components to support Value Streams production plan in terms of the right quality, right quantity, right price, and at the right time. Implement the best practices to achieve ITR and Productivity targets.

Role & responsibilities

• Look after the Castings, Forgings, Hardware, and fabrication parts required for Engineered Check Stream.
• Issues the Purchase Order, tracks and expedite the supply to achieve OTD.
• Principally ensuring continuity of supply by timely execution of order placement, effective expediting of materials, resolution of problems, and supplier visits if necessary.
• Evaluate supplier evaluation and send suppliers score cards on monthly basis.
• Evaluate and act upon the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) for assigned commodities. Generate and adjust purchase orders and schedule letters to support production requirements.
• Work with Strategic supply chain for Vendor Managed Inventory, Supplier Consignment Inventory reduction, and MRS optimization.
• Provide inputs to monthly Supply Chain reporting required for KPI Bowler.
• A good understanding of the quoting process to suppliers based on the sites strategic sourcing matrix.
• Review of requisitions to identify potential E & O reductions.
• Raising POs whilst reviewing Action Messages for Cancellations / Expediting and De-expediting PO Lines.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in the Casting & Forging purchase activities
• Knowledge of various materials like WCB, SS, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Inconel, Cobalt Alloy, etc.
• Required basic knowledge of Project Purchasing along with excellent negotiation skill.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment.
