STP TECHNICIAN

Responsible for the operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of Sewage Treatment Plant equipment to ensure efficient and safe wastewater treatment as per environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor all units of the STP, including screens, pumps, blowers, aeration tanks, clarifiers, sludge handling, and disinfection systems.
• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on plant equipment (pumps, valves, motors, pipelines, and control panels).
• Check and record flow rates, pressure, dissolved oxygen, pH, and other parameters; maintain accurate logs and daily reports.
• Carry out backwashing, desludging, and cleaning of tanks, filters, and diffusers as required.
• Identify faults, leaks, or abnormal plant operations and report or rectify them promptly.
• Follow safety procedures while handling chemicals (e.g., chlorine, alum, polymers) and maintain proper storage.
• Support periodic servicing, calibration, and major maintenance in coordination with the supervisor.
• Ensure treated effluent meets statutory discharge standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in and around the STP area.
