STP Electro-Mechanical Works Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Project Execution & Supervision

Plan, schedule, and execute all electrical and instrumentation works as per tender/contract requirements.

Ensure correct installation of panels, drives, switchgears, MCCs, transformers, DG sets, earthing, lightning protection, and cabling.

Supervise E&I subcontractors, technicians, and vendors to ensure compliance with design, IS standards, and safety norms.

Technical Coordination

Review electrical drawings, SLDs, and GAs; coordinate with design engineers for approvals.

Interface with civil and mechanical teams to integrate electro-mechanical works with process units.

Coordinate FAT/SAT, testing, and calibration of instruments and PLC/SCADA systems.

Commissioning & O&M Support

Lead start-up, testing, and commissioning of all electrical, automation, and control systems.

Prepare and validate as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and SOPs for electrical & instrumentation systems.

Provide training and handholding to client operators for smooth O&M of E&I systems.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, CPEEHO, CPHEEO, and other relevant codes/standards.

Monitor quality of work as per QAP and method statements.

Implement site-level EHS measures in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of:

Low voltage (LT) and medium voltage (MV) distribution systems.

Motor control centers (MCC), VFDs, soft starters, DG sets, UPS systems.

PLC/SCADA/DCS systems, field instruments (flowmeters, level transmitters, DO sensors, etc.).

Earthing, cabling, and lightning protection systems.

Ability to troubleshoot and optimize electro-mechanical systems.

Strong project management, documentation, and reporting skills.

Team leadership with cross-disciplinary coordination.

Awareness of energy efficiency, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering / EEE (Electronics & Electrical Engineering).

Experience: 310 years in EPC/Water & Wastewater/STP/FSTP/Industrial E&I projects.

Certifications (preferred): Electrical Supervisor License, PLC/SCADA programming, Safety certifications.

Work Location

Project sites across Northeast India (or as per company requirements).
