Steward (Waiter)

A waiter's job involves providing excellent customer service by greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders accurately (including special requests/allergies), serving food and drinks, checking on guest satisfaction, processing payments, and maintaining clean dining areas, all while coordinating efficiently with kitchen and bar staff in a fast-paced environment. They act as the main link between customers and the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction: Greet guests, seat them, present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations.
• Order Management: Take accurate food and drink orders, relay them to kitchen/bar, and communicate any special requests or allergies.
• Service Delivery: Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Table Maintenance: Clear dirty dishes, refill drinks, set tables, and keep the dining area clean and organized.
• Payment Processing: Handle bills, process payments (cash/card), and close out tables efficiently.
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen, bar, and other staff to ensure smooth service.
• Problem Solving: Address complaints and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Customer Service: Strong focus on guest satisfaction.
• Communication: Clear verbal skills to interact with guests and staff.
• Multitasking & Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently, especially during peak hours.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in orders, payments, and cleanliness.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Basic Math: For handling payments.
• Experience/Education: Previous customer service or hospitality experience is often preferred; hotel/F&B management background is a plus.
