Job Title: Steward Location: Schiller Institute Senior Secondary School Department: Administration / Pantry Services Employment Type: Full-time Role Summary: We are looking for a professional and organized Steward to manage all aspects of pantry and dining service. This includes meal/menu planning, correct use and care of crockery, serving with etiquette, table setup and winding-up, maintaining hygiene standards, and training maids or supporting staff as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, disciplined, and have strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:Meal & Menu Planning Prepare or coordinate daily/weekly meal menus based on season, preferences, and nutrition. Ensure timely and hygienic food preparation or arrangement. Assist in meal variety and portion control as per requirement. Serving & Table Etiquette Serve meals, snacks, and beverages using correct crockery and serving tools. Follow standard serving etiquettes (e.g. correct side of serving, sequence, temperature). Set up formal/informal tables aesthetically and neatly as per occasion. Wind up table post-meal, remove used items discreetly, and clean surfaces. Crockery & Cabinet Management Use appropriate crockery for different types of meals and beverages. Ensure all items are washed properly, dried, and neatly placed back in cabinets. Maintain inventory, report damages, and ensure nothing is misplaced. Pantry Operations & Hygiene Keep the pantry clean, pest-free, and well-stocked. Ensure timely refilling of supplies like tea, coffee, sugar, cutlery, etc. Dispose waste as per guidelines and ensure all cleaning protocols are followed. Training & Supervision Train housekeeping or maids on proper table-setting, pantry upkeep, and cleaning procedures. Supervise pantry helpers and ensure their tasks are completed to standard. Guide support staff on usage of crockery and basic serving etiquette. Required Skills: Knowledge of serving etiquette and crockery use Good understanding of pantry and hygiene standards Basic menu planning and food coordination knowledge Leadership qualities to train and guide support staff Honest, presentable, and physically fit Qualification & Experience: Minimum 10th pass or equivalent 2–4 years of experience as a Steward in a school, office, or institutional setup Prior experience in hospitality or formal serving preferred Timings: 07:30AM – 05:00 PM (Monday to Saturday) [Can be adjusted based on organizational needs] Salary Range: ₹10,000 – ₹12,000 per month (depending on experience and skills) Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month Benefits: Health insurance Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
