About the Role

The STEM trainer will be responsible for facilitating high-quality computer science education in partner government and affordable private schools. This includes delivering excellent classroom instruction, problem-solving with both analytical and creative approaches, and taking initiative to lead projects that reflect your values and align with the organization's vision. The role requires a deep commitment to ensuring the educational program has a sustainable and meaningful impact on students.

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Delivery

  • Deliver curriculum effectively across specified grade levels in assigned schools (this may include travel across the city).
  • Create monthly goals and daily lesson plans with support from the Program Manager, aligned with the curriculum and teaching philosophy.
  • Maintain class reports, track student attendance, and assess learning outcomes through various tools (assessments, projects, quizzes, etc.).
  • Coordinate with school authorities to ensure adequate instructional time and proper lab maintenance.

Training and Capacity Building

  • Participate in professional development through training, seminars, workshops, and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Attend pre-scheduled training sessions at the start of the year.
  • Join monthly learning circles to exchange best practices with peers and prepare for upcoming sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to enhance instructional practices based on feedback.

Events

  • Organize an annual student showcase in coordination with school authorities.
  • Mentor selected students for the annual event.
  • Conduct hackathons, quizzes, and field visits to enrich student learning experiences.
  • Support the team with operational and programmatic needs during annual events.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to out-of-classroom programs, curriculum testing, research and development activities, impact analysis, recruitment, and team decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with various stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn, stay updated on computer science education, and give/receive constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across local districts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in a STEM or Education field, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/STEM.
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching or experience working with children in formal/informal settings.
  • Familiarity with education and program evaluation methods.
  • Ability to speak the local language.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
