What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a highly skilled

Hardware Technical Writer

with over 8 years of experience in developing high-quality hardware documentation. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in

Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with

MadCap Flare

. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering, product, and support teams to create comprehensive documentation for hardware products and systems.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

Develop, write, and maintain clear, accurate, and user-friendly hardware documentation such as:

Installation guides
Assembly and disassembly instructions
Technical specifications
Maintenance and service manuals
Regulatory and safety documentation

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams to gather technical information.
Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and schematics to create accurate documentation.
Use
MadCap Flare
to author, manage, and publish content in various formats (HTML5, PDF, etc.).
Drive documentation projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools.

Requirements

Bachelor s degree in
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
.
8+ years of experience in hardware documentation, preferably in the electronics, energy, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
Proficiency in
MadCap Flare
for authoring and content management is a must.
Strong understanding of hardware design principles and product life cycles.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Experience working in Agile or cross-functional team environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with 3D modeling tools for extracting visuals is a plus.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and content management systems.
Exposure to localization workflows and working with translation vendors.
