Job Title: Emergency Department (ED) Staff Nurse Department: Emergency/ Casualty Location: Super Health hospital  Reports To: ED In-charge / Nursing Supervisor Job Summary: The ED Staff Nurse provides immediate and professional nursing care to patients arriving in the Emergency Department. This role involves rapid assessment, stabilization, and continuous monitoring of patients with acute medical or surgical conditions. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment & Triage: Perform rapid assessment and triage according to patient condition. Prioritize patient care based on the severity of illness or injury. Record vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately. Clinical Care: Provide immediate life-saving interventions as needed (e.g., CPR, airway management). Administer medications and intravenous therapy as per doctor’s orders. Assist physicians during medical procedures and emergency interventions. Apply wound dressings, immobilization techniques (e.g., splints), and manage trauma cases. Monitoring & Documentation: Continuously monitor patients and report changes in condition promptly. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and nursing notes. Ensure all documentation complies with hospital policies and standards. Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with doctors, diagnostic departments, and other medical staff. Communicate effectively with patients and their families in high-stress situations. Assist with admission, transfer, or discharge of patients as required. Infection Control & Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and sanitation practices. Ensure a clean and organized emergency room environment. Safely manage biomedical waste and sharp instruments. Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle mass casualty situations and disaster response. Participate in emergency drills and training programs regularly. Qualifications & Requirements: GNM or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution. Registered Nurse with the State Nursing Council. 1–3 years of experience in an Emergency/Casualty/ICU setting preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is highly desirable. Strong clinical judgment, quick decision-making, and ability to work under pressure.
