Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Patient Care

Provide nursing care to patients in OPD, wards, OT, and diagnostic areas.
Prepare patients for eye examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
Monitor vital signs and patient condition pre- and post-operative.
Administer medications, eye drops, injections, and IV fluids as prescribed.

Operation Theatre (OT) Duties

Assist ophthalmologists during eye surgeries (Cataract, LASIK, Retina, Glaucoma, etc.).
Maintain OT sterility and infection control protocols.
Prepare instruments, consumables, and OT setup before procedures.

Clinical Assistance

Assist doctors during eye examinations and minor procedures.
Support diagnostic tests such as OCT, Fundus photography, A-scan, B-scan, etc.
Ensure proper patient positioning and comfort during procedures.

Patient Education & Counseling

Educate patients on post-operative care, medication usage, and follow-up visits.
Guide patients and attendants regarding eye care precautions.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain nursing notes, patient records, and consent forms.
Follow NABH / hospital protocols and safety standards.
Report any adverse events or complications immediately.

General Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness and readiness of nursing stations and patient areas.
Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and administrative staff.
Attend training programs and nursing meetings as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification:
GNM / B.Sc Nursing / ANM
Experience:
01 year (Freshers can apply)
Experience in eye hospital preferred
Skills:
Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and instruments
Patient-friendly and caring attitude
Good communication skills
Ability to work in shifts
Gender:
Male / Female
Registration:
Valid Nursing Council Registration mandatory
