Staff Engineer - SRE, Digital Business

As a Staff Engineer - SRE at Sonyliv, a leading OTT platform, your role will involve designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable infrastructure to support the OTT platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Taking complete ownership of the availability, reliability, and performance of systems, encompassing both application and infrastructure layers. - Leveraging your experience as a developer and SRE to develop tools, automation, and systems that enhance system reliability and operational efficiency. - Responding promptly to and resolving critical system issues, being available for on-call support during non-business hours, and managing emergencies effectively. - Designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure solutions using containers, networks, and CDNs to ensure scalability and performance. - Driving best practices in observability, including metrics, logging, and tracing, to enhance system monitoring and proactive issue resolution. - Proactively identifying areas for improvement in system reliability, performance, and scalability, and implementing strategies to address them. - Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align goals and improve operational excellence, while effectively communicating across teams and stakeholders. - Building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and efficiency, and automating repetitive tasks and processes. Required Skills and Experience: - + years of experience in software development, DevOps, and SRE roles. - Strong development experience with expertise in building scalable, distributed systems. - Hands-on experience managing production systems, ensuring uptime, and improving system reliability. - Proficiency with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), networking concepts, CDNs, infrastructure-as-code tools, cloud platforms, observability solutions, incident handling, scripting/programming languages, and system reliability optimization. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, along with a willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in OTT or video streaming platforms. - Understanding of video delivery workflows, encoding, and adaptive bitrate streaming technologies. - Experience working with hybrid infrastructure or multicloud cloud environment. - Certifications in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
