Job Description

Design, implement, and manage our database systems both on premise and in public cloud environments
Develop and maintain Ansible and Python automation scripts for DB provisioning and life cycle management.
Build and deploy Infrastructure as Code to manage database instances on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Set up and maintain database monitoring tools to ensure database health and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues in a timely manner.
Provide technical influence and database subject matter expertise, tackling complex problems and identifying innovative solutions
Work closely with cross-functional groups including product development, other Infrastructure engineering teams, Cybersecurity and Operations.

Basic Qualifications:-

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:-

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor s Degree or at least 5+ years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+ years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience as Database Engineer with minimum 3 years supporting Distributed database technologies (NoSQL or Distributed SQL).
Minimum 2 years experience supporting large databases used for OLAP workload.
Strong understanding of RDBMS, NoSQL and Distributed SQL database concepts and Architecture.
Strong understanding of various data models e.g. relational, document, key-value, graph
Good understanding of database physical and logical replications and various high availability solutions.
Strong scripting skills with Ansible, Python and Terraform
Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as code (IAC)
UNIX Linux platform skills and understanding of operating system, network, storage and security.
Understanding and experience with Virtualization and Containerization technologies and cloud-native Architecture
