Job Description

As a Staff Auditor at American Express Internal Audit Group (IAG), you will play a crucial role in supporting audits and related activities for the APAC portfolio. Your responsibilities will include: - Participating in audits and related activities across the APAC portfolio - Analyzing and reviewing audit results and documentation to evaluate control effectiveness and efficiency, synthesizing audit findings - Participating in client meetings and walkthroughs - Developing test steps, audit findings, and the audit report in accordance with IAG policies and procedures - Supporting business monitoring activities by tracking key metrics to identify control issues and trends, staying updated with industry trends, external news, regulatory changes, and analyzing their impact on business exams - Attending report/issue conversations with management, working with Director/Team Leader to communicate and take action on next steps - Reporting on assigned tasks in client reporting meetings and assisting in preparing materials for Regulatory exams - Following up with management to ensure effective and timely closure of management action plans Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of relevant audit experience in the financial services industry/Big 4 - BA, BS, or equivalent degree in accounting or finance-related field - Knowledge and experience in the application of control theory and professional auditing practices, including the audit lifecycle - Understanding of regulatory, accounting, and financial industry best practices relevant to the business, including technology and data implications - Ability to break down complex problems, solve them using data analysis, process knowledge, and risk/control knowledge, and communicate results and control recommendations transparently and with integrity - Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver quality, actionable feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions - Ability to work independently within a team and across teams in a fast-paced environment, driving business results, utilizing project management skills, creative thinking, and managing competing priorities Preferred Qualifications: - Interest in working with data, interpreting results, analytic best practices, and experience with data analytics tools and data visualization - Professional Certification (CIA, CPA, CISA, or equivalent) - Experience from big accounting firms or global internal audit functions American Express prioritizes the well-being of its employees and offers benefits such as competitive base salaries, bonus incentives, support for financial well-being and retirement, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability benefits, flexible working models, generous paid parental leave policies, access to global on-site wellness centers, free and confidential counseling support through the Healthy Minds program, and career development and training opportunities.,
