Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join our middle school faculty. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social development of students. The teacher will design and implement curriculum aligned with state standards while integrating critical thinking, historical inquiry, and current events. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver effective social studies lessons covering history, geography, civics, and economics. Foster critical thinking, debate, and research skills through project-based learning and interactive discussions. Create lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and differentiated for diverse learners. Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student learning. Assess student performance regularly using formative and summative tools; provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives. Uphold school policies, values, and code of conduct in and outside the classroom. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field Valid teaching certification (state-specific) for middle grades Classroom teaching experience at the middle school level Preferred: Masters degree in Education or Social Sciences Experience with digital learning platforms and classroom technology Background in differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices Key Skills: Strong classroom management and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Culturally responsive and student-centered approach Passion for history and civic education
