Sr.Matchmove/Rotomation Artist

Position Summary

BOT VFX is seeking a highly skilled

Sr. Rotomation / Matchmove Artist

to join our global team. This role is critical for the seamless integration of CGI with live-action footage. You will be responsible for delivering pixel-perfect camera and object tracks for complex shots, managing strict deadlines, and providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior artists.

Key Responsibilities

High-End Execution:

Consistently deliver high-quality camera and object tracking on complex-to-high-end complex shots.

Rotomation & Body Tracking:

Perform accurate 3D rotoscoping and body tracking to match actors or objects in live-action plates for CG character/prop replacement.

Technical Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve complex technical issues related to rigs, lidar, or survey data.Lead and mentor new entrants, conducting training sessions to upskill the team in matchmove and rotomation workflows. along with to provide regular internal status updates and ensure on-time delivery of shots within the variable client pipeline.

Pipeline Collaboration:

Work closely with Layout and Animation departments to ensure 3D scene continuity and accurate geometry reconstruction.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Expert knowledge of

Maya

and

3DEqualizer

. Familiarity with additional tracking software (Syntheyes or Boujou) is a plus.with better understanding of 3D camera principles (lenses, distortion, parallax, overscan, and film backs).

Rigging & Animation:

Strong knowledge of animation and working with various character rigs, including a solid grasp of

IK/FK concepts

.Skilled in object tracking, camera matchmove, and using lidar/photogrammetry models for scene reconstruction. and Strong problem-solving skills to "nudge" cameras manually with logical motion when automated solves fail.
