ETL / Data Integration Developer

IBM DataStage (InfoSphere suite)

Key Responsibilities

ETL Development & Data Integration

• Design and develop enterprise-grade ETL systems and data integration solutions using

  IBM DataStage

  .
• Apply Deloitte Canada coding standards, development procedures, and best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on ETL design and development techniques.
• Create and maintain technical code documentation and solution design artifacts.
• Participate in solution estimation, planning, and delivery activities.

Cloud & Modernization

• Design and develop data and ETL migrations to cloud-based platforms, primarily

  Microsoft Azure

  .
• Work with Azure-based services such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) where applicable.
• Contribute to cloud-first and modernization strategies for enterprise data platforms.

Testing, Support & Operations

• Perform unit testing and analyze/report results to QA and project teams.
• Troubleshoot ETL and application issues reported by QA, product owners, and end users.
• Provide

  Level 3 production support

  for ETL and data integration systems.
• Identify root causes of data and application issues and document resolutions.

Architecture & SDLC Contributions

• Contribute to ETL and big data solution architecture and SDLC best practices.
• Support the evolution of systems engineering, QA, and data integration standards.
• Participate in the Architecture Community of Practice.
• Remain current with emerging technologies, tools, and programming languages.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent
• Any graduate degree considered
• Professional certifications (optional)

Core Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Strong hands-on experience with

  IBM DataStage (InfoSphere suite)

• ETL design and development expertise
• Solid experience with relational databases, especially

  Microsoft SQL Server

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with web services design and development
• Message queue design and development experience
• Ability to work effectively with remote and distributed teams

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Azure Data Factory and cloud-based ETL services
• Exposure to Hadoop environments and big data architecture
• Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, XML, .NET)
• Knowledge of message queues
• Basic Python programming skills
• Familiarity with:
• Microsoft System Center Orchestrator
• PGP encryption
• GlobalSCAPE CuteFTP / Robo-FTP
• Alteryx
• IBM Cognos Data Manager
• VBScript and PowerShell
