Description
We are seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Manager based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing the execution of vessel retrofit projects, from technical feasibility assessment to yard commissioning. This full-time position is designed for an individual contributor, ideally suited for a Marine Chief Engineer with a solid background in docking, retrofit implementation, and stakeholder coordination. The role entails a hands-on approach to managing engineering design reviews, class interactions, vendor negotiations, and real-time troubleshooting during retrofits involving a range of Energy Efficiency Technologies (EETs) from basic ones like LEDs and VFDs to more complex systems such as WAPS, ALS, Shore power, and CCS Systems. As a Senior Technical Solutions Manager, you will be responsible for: - End-to-End Retrofit Management: Taking ownership of retrofit projects from initiation to completion, including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination. - Engineering & Electrical Integration: Reviewing design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions, while liaising with engineering vendors and class societies for necessary approvals. - Techno-Commercial Offers & ROI: Creating technical offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for both internal and client-facing stakeholders. - Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination: Serving as the primary point of contact for owners, charters, yards, OEMs, and internal Njord teams to ensure seamless execution. - Project Documentation & RACI: Developing and managing project RACI charts, technical specifications, work orders, and commissioning plans, as well as maintaining Project-related accounts. - Yard Attendance: Travelling to yards for critical retrofit phases, including installation, integration, commissioning, and paint applications. - Hull/Paint Strategy & Execution: Leading discussions on hull modification and paint selection (e.g., silicone, advanced antifouling) and coordinating yard/OEM activities during dry dockings. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Marine Engineer (Class 1 Motor) with 1 to 2 years of onshore experience in technical management or yard roles, complemented by hands-on experience in at least two major drydocking/repairs involving tankers or bulkers. - Exposure to retrofits such as EPL/ShaPloi/BWTS, Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, and Hull paint. - Proficiency in design reviews, electrical integration, and class interactions. - Commercial Acumen: Proficient in ROI modelling, proposal creation, cost vs savings analysis. - Familiarity with MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, and optionally, CFD exposure. - Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.,
