Position Title: B2B Application Designer

Experience: 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in IT

Job Summary

This B2B Application designer position is recognized within the Client IT community as an expert in the B2B Application development area. Key areas of accountability include liaising with Client Integration architects & solution designers, working with business partners & other IT teams on multiple EDI & MFT development projects, providing product expertise and assist as an SME in contributing to technology roadmaps.

Responsibilities:


  • Strong understanding of application design principles and methodologies, with a focus on user experience and functionality.

  • Perform Application Development using B2B Technologies (SI-EDI and SI-MFT) for Enterprise demands & Internal requests.

  • Work with Integrations Architects, Solution Designers & Business to deliver high quality EDI and MFT solutions.

  • Schedule meetings with stakeholders around the world to gather Project s functional & technical requirements, scope of work, timelines, UAT & Deployment plans.

  • Follow Enterprise Change & Release management guidelines to develop & implement new B2B solutions in various Application environments.

  • Take ownership of the complete Application Development process like Requirements gathering, scheduling B2B architects review & approval, Code/solution development, Unit Testing, UAT, Production cutover & Post go-live support.

  • Ensure the newly developed solutions, codes, processes and configurations are in line with the Enterprise policies and guidelines.

  • Propose Continuous Improvement & Automation Ideas that will add value to the Enterprise.

  • Work with Product vendor for any issues related to the application from Development perspective.

  • Communicate and promote adoption of best practices and standards in the Development area.

  • Participate in the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers and requirements that drive the future state architecture.

  • Contribute to the B2B Modernization program from the B2B Development perspective.


Required Skillsets:


  • Strong understanding of application design principles and methodologies, with a focus on user experience and functionality.

  • Should have 8+ years of experience with B2B EDI and MFT Applications and minimum 3+ years of Development experience in IBM Sterling Integrator (SI) products.

  • Should have working knowledge in IBM Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling Control Center, Perimeter servers, SEAS, Sterling Connect:Direct, Sterling File Gateway applications.

  • Strong experience in creating new SI Business Processes (BPML) & various Adapters and Services.

  • Sound knowledge on creating complex transformation maps in SI using Map Editor.

  • Exposure to various file formats like EDI (X12, EDIFACT, etc. . , ), CSV, Flat Files, Positional, IDOC, ODBC, etc. ,

  • Proficient with setup and troubleshooting of communication protocols (i. e. SFTP, AS2, HTTPS) B2B EDI terminology & standards (X12, EDI, XML, JSON).

  • Good understanding of Enterprise Infrastructure systems like Database, Storage, Network, Load Balancers, Firewall, reverse proxy, etc.

  • Understanding of systems architecture, security for external and internal communication.

  • Knowledge on various scripting tools like shell, python, etc is an advantage.

  • Moderately proficient experience with Java, XPath, XSLT, SOAP, REST, SQL.

  • Understanding of agile principles and IT project management a nice to have.

  • Previous Client experience is a HUGE plus.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and conceptualization skills.
