Sr. Robot Programmer

Role Purpose:

Responsible for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial robots (ABB, FANUC, KUKA) for applications such as welding (TIG and MIG ), cutting, material handling, and foundry automation. The role requires strong technical expertise in robotic systems, integration with automation equipment, and ensuring optimal performance during production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and optimize robot programs for ABB, FANUC, and KUKA platforms.
• Configure robot paths, tool center points (TCP), and process parameters for welding ( TIG and MIG), cutting, and handling applications.
• Integrate robots with PLC, sensors, vision systems, and other automation equipment.
• Conduct offline programming and simulation using tools like RobotStudio, RoboGuide, or KUKA Sim.
• Perform robot calibration, cycle time optimization, and error troubleshooting.
• Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing at customer sites.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and risk assessments for robotic cells.
• Train operators and maintenance teams on robot operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation for programs, backups, and change logs.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in ABB, FANUC, and KUKA robot programming.
• Knowledge of welding processes ( TIG and MIG), cutting technologies, and material handling systems.
• Familiarity with PLC integration, fieldbus communication (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet).
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with offline programming tools and simulation software.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Experience & Education:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.

• 510 years of experience

  in industrial robotics programming and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience in welding ( TIG and MIG), cutting, and material handling automation projects.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel for installation and commissioning.
• Knowledge of safety standards for robotic systems.
