Job Description

Primary Oracle DBA:
Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle 12c/19c/21c environments in production and non-production.Set up and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions using
Oracle RAC
and
Data Guard
.Conduct in-depth
performance tuning
,
SQL optimization
, and
database health checks
.
Manage backup/recovery strategies using
RMAN
,
Data Pump
, and custom scripts.Automate administrative tasks and operational procedures using
Shell scripting
,
PL/SQL
, or
Python
.Implement and enforce security standards and policies across environments.Plan and execute patching and version upgrades with minimal downtime.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs or support staff.
Secondary DB2 DBA:
Perform
installation, maintenance, and patching
of DB2 databases (LUW or z/OS).Support performance tuning, database monitoring, and capacity planning in DB2 environments.Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot DB2-related issues.Assist in backup/restore operations, and database scripting.
Required Skills & Experience:
8 10 years of total experience in database administration.Minimum
6+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle DBA
in production environments.Minimum
2+ years of hands-on DB2 DBA experience
(LUW ).Deep knowledge of Oracle internals, ASM, RMAN, AWR/ASH reports, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and database cloning.Strong command over scripting (Shell, Python, or PL/SQL) for automation.
Working knowledge of DB2 command-line tools, performance tuning, and monitoring utilities.Proven ability to support large-scale enterprise database environments.Good understanding of ITIL processes and change management.
Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
a strong plus.
IBM DB2 Certification
preferred.Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure Database for Oracle/DB2).Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or JIRA.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Excellent verbal and written communication.Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
