Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Engineer to join KEL team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of welding standards, codes, and processes, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality welding outputs. The role involves leading welding operations, coordinating with fabrication teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Tests (WPQT).
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for welding processes.
• Oversee welding operations, ensuring adherence to ASTM D1.1, ASME SEC-IX, EN15609, and ISO 3834 codes and standards.
• Interpret and analyse engineering drawings, ensuring proper fit-up, tolerances, and allowances.
• Identify and address weld imperfections, applying acceptance criteria per relevant codes.
• Train and mentor welders to enhance skills and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to optimize welding processes and improve output quality.
• Lead welding projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to safety protocols.
• Select and maintain welding equipment, jigs, and fixtures to support efficient operations.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and adopt new welding technologies and techniques.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education

  : Bachelors degree or diploma in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institute.

• Certifications

  :
• Valid certification under AWS and ASME Section IX from a government-recognized institute, OR
• Welding certification from IIW (International Institute of Welding) or IWT (International Welding Technologist).

• CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Welding Supervisor registration is an added advantage.

• Experience

  : 7-10 years of hands-on experience in welding engineering, with expertise in various welding processes and techniques.

• Technical Knowledge

  :
• In-depth understanding of welding standards and codes (ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting welding symbols, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with welding equipment, jigs, fixtures, and their applications.
• Knowledge of weld imperfections, acceptance criteria, and quality control processes.
