Job Description:- Position: Welding Engineer Location: Boisar Experience: 7-10 Years Job Summary: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Engineer to join KEL team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of welding standards, codes, and processes, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality welding outputs. The role involves leading welding operations, coordinating with fabrication teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, review, and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Tests (WPQT). Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for welding processes. Oversee welding operations, ensuring adherence to ASTM D1.1, ASME SEC-IX, EN15609, and ISO 3834 codes and standards. Interpret and analyse engineering drawings, ensuring proper fit-up, tolerances, and allowances. Identify and address weld imperfections, applying acceptance criteria per relevant codes. Train and mentor welders to enhance skills and ensure compliance with quality standards. Coordinate with the fabrication team to optimize welding processes and improve output quality. Lead welding projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to safety protocols. Select and maintain welding equipment, jigs, and fixtures to support efficient operations. Stay updated on industry advancements and adopt new welding technologies and techniques. Qualifications and Skills: Education : Bachelors degree or diploma in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institute. Certifications : Valid certification under AWS and ASME Section IX from a government-recognized institute, OR Welding certification from IIW (International Institute of Welding) or IWT (International Welding Technologist). CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Welding Supervisor registration is an added advantage. Experience : 7-10 years of hands-on experience in welding engineering, with expertise in various welding processes and techniques. Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of welding standards and codes (ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO). Proficiency in reading and interpreting welding symbols, engineering drawings, and specifications. Familiarity with welding equipment, jigs, fixtures, and their applications. Knowledge of weld imperfections, acceptance criteria, and quality control processes. Soft Skills : Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to train and mentor welders effectively. Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to a dynamic work environment. Preferred Attributes: Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Familiarity with advanced welding technologies and automation. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities: Perform welding operations using MIG, Argon, and TIG methods according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Weld materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Set up and operate welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner. Prepare surfaces and materials before welding by cleaning, cutting, or grinding as needed. Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards (visual inspection and/or non-destructive testing). Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment. Work collaboratively with fabrication and engineering teams. Maintain safety protocols and follow all company health and safety policies. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or welding certification is a plus. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARGON welding techniques. Proven experience in MIG, Argon (TIG), and TIG welding. Strong knowledge of metal types, welding techniques, and fabrication processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols. Familiarity with welding safety practices and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations. Working Conditions: Exposure to heat, noise, and fumes in a workshop or factory environment. May require working in confined spaces or at heights, depending on the project. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with CNC plasma cutting or robotic welding systems.
